Hello hello!
My name is Begüm Olgun.
I’m a UI/UX Designer.

Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. Moved to Vancouver, BC to pursue further education and find my specialty. Now I’m back in Turkey and would like to apply my knowledge and experience into a company that I align with. I studied Visual Communication Design in Istanbul and graduated back in ‘21. To further my education when I moved to Canada, I studied for a post-graduate certification in UI/UX Design and took a couple of classes on front-end development.

After completion, I have developed a strong foundation in design principles, user-centered design, and problem-solving as well as HTML and CSS. My recent completion of a UI/UX Design course offered by Google further strengthened my understanding of industry best practices, and I am excited to apply this knowledge in a professional setting.
I’ve spent some time working in unrelated fields, but recently I have decided to return to my profession again to pursue a career in UI/UX design, where I can use my existing skills and continue learning from seasoned professionals.

As seen in my portfolio, in my academic journey, and through independent projects, I have honed my ability to approach design challenges from a user-centered perspective. I really enjoy working in collaborative environments, and I thrive in roles where I can contribute creatively while also gaining insight from my colleagues. My long-term goal is to lead design teams and transition into project management, where I can combine my design expertise with organizational and leadership skills.
